Organic recycling is a vital process in integrated farming systems. Green manuring, the practice of incorporating green plant tissues into soil offers multiple prospects. Apart from building organic matter, this helps in nutrient enrichment of soils and improvement in soil properties leading to soil health. Green manures are thus regarded as essential crop components for sustainable agriculture. Daincha, Sunhemp, Cowpea etc are some major green manure crops.
